After years of working with AP invoices, we found out that majority of the invoice processing is done manually despite the number of tools available. As for the automation that was used, most of it relied on rigid rule-based coding that produced inconsistent results and required constant updates. As a result, accountants spent time reviewing, correcting, and reclassifying entries that should have been automated long ago.

Our shared ambition to do things more efficiently eventually lead to a question: “How would the process be done if an accounting professional would do it - and how can we build automation that replicates that?” That question has stayed as the main driving force behind everything we do - to create automation that works just like a professional finance team would.
